Expected Starting Salary: 41.10 - 52.27 SUBFUNCTION DEFINITION: Involves the development, implementation and monitoring of effective and efficient systems to facilitate all aspects of medical staff services and credentialing. Provides for the processing of applications and verification of physician licensing and certifications. May also involve the preparation of agendas and related materials for medical staff meetings and peer review activities. May serve as the liaison between the medical staff and all hospital departments to coordinate and provide overall continuity of medical staff activities. Monitors compliance with medical staff bylaws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
Performance Management Direct the development and monitoring of an effective staffing and retention strategy, including hiring and terminating employees, workforce planning, succession planning; attracting and retaining top performers, partnering with leadership and Human Resources to develop effective and appropriate recruitment packages, and effective on-boarding programs for staff; effective performance management of direct reports; in partnership with leadership, provide mentoring and development to faculty and other leaders in effective performance management; mentor and provide learning and development opportunities for direct reports and others in business roles; effectively and appropriately leveraging human resources business partners to meet the division's talent management goals; ultimate responsibility for supporting organizational programs/plans that impact employees and ensuring communication, comprehension, and adherence to all Human Resources policies and related legal and/or compliance requirements.
Credentialing/Privileging/Enrollment Directly responsible for the development, maintenance and continual improvement of the credentialing/privileging process. Develops systems to meet requirements of accrediting bodies, CCHMC Bylaws and medical staff policies. Direct, develop, and implement process of accurate application information to ensure the timely and efficient appointment and reappointment of the CCHMC Medical Staff to meet the strategic goals of the organization. Ensure optimization of provider information to all aspects of the organization including the direct oversight of provider enrollment with government, commercial payers, maintains systems to ensure timely submissions of applicants to meet the organization billing needs.
People Planning Conduct ongoing evaluation and mentoring of direct reports including effective, clear and timely annual performance evaluation and active succession planning. Oversee performance management of indirect reports. Ensure indirect and direct reports are properly trained to perform job functions. Ensure departmental and Medical Center initiatives, priorities, standards and policies are effectively communicated and understood by direct and indirect reports. Provide staff with clear, actionable goals and timely, direct feedback related to attainment of those goals throughout the reporting period. Assist staff in understanding how their positions support and contribute to the mission, vision and strategies of the Medical Center.
Compliance Sustain a working understanding of regulatory requirements and accreditation standards. Evaluate area of responsibility for compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. Identify best practices as well as deficiencies to share with peers and make recommendations for improvement. Participate in the development of corrective action plans to guide needed and sustainable improvements. Ensure that compliance and readiness plans are current. Enhance relationships to promote interdisciplinary involvement and knowledge of compliance standards, status, and actions. Track laws, regulations and standards that may affect practice and policies. Work with direct reports to insure that needed changes are made by the effective date of any change(s) in requirements.
Vendor Management May work with vendors regarding functionality needs, coordinate implementation of new software and upgrades with IS, update processes and communicate changes to department and other stakeholders. May analyze, test and implement existing or new vendor software solutions that fulfill business needs or improve existing processes.
Bachelor's degree in a related field
