The site navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows move across top level links and expand / close menus in sub levels. Up and Down arrows will open main level menus and toggle through sub tier links. Enter and space open menus and escape closes them as well. Tab will move on to the next part of the site rather than go through menu items.
This position answers, in rapid succession, a large volume of emergency and non-emergency calls, transferring calls appropriately by operating the centralized telephone switchboard, and answering radio traffic for transport calls. Calls consults for the Emergency Medicine physicians as requested either via phone call or EPIC. Answers the operator phone line for outside calls from the public, into the health system. Handles overhead paging duties for codes, pages, etc. Dispatches transportation and other requests as needed. Monitors the transportation board and the specimen/courier tracking system. The specialist will monitor for emergency codes, initiating overhead paging and/or notifying the appropriate emergency code group as well as communicating with the Administrator On Call and House Supervisor to ensure a timely response to all codes and pages.
Requirements:
High School diploma
1-year experience in health care customer service or call center/dispatch experience.
Microsoft Office Suite (includes Word and Excel). Basic Data entry skills and at least net 40 wpm.
FAX, phone, headsets, computer and printers
Filing, electronic scanning; effective communications skills (written and verbal). Superb customer service skills. Ability to multi-task, maintain alertness and move from one task to another very quickly.
