Princeton and the surrounding Mercer County towns are some of the most highly rated places to live and work. Residents here enjoy living in upscale, safe neighborhoods, many with charming tree-lined streets. In the heart of Central New Jersey, this location and transit network put it a quick train ride away from New York City and Philadelphia. There are lots of restaurants, coffee shops, and parks. Many young professionals live here, and most residents own their own homes. One reason why this area is so popular among families with school-aged children is the fact that it has fantastic public schools which boast significantly higher graduation rates than the national average. Apart from outstanding public schools, there are also plenty of private schools, many of which are nationally recognized. Princeton University, an Ivy League university, is yet another mark of excellence in education and is one of the world’s most prominent research universities.
