DescriptionThe Center-Based Manager directly supervises child development center teachers and coaches while serving as an advisor to the unit and administration. This role involves analyzing and resolving issues, interpreting policies related to fiscal management, human resources, contracts, grants, and resource management, and applying subject matter expertise. The manager exercises judgment within established procedures and policies to determine appropriate actions.
Additionally, they oversee staff to ensure accountability and responsible stewardship of departmental resources-operational, financial, and human-in alignment with departmental goals and objectives. This position includes direct supervision of an Early Childhood Education site and receives assignments in the form of objectives, along with guidance on achieving them.
The Center-Based Manager provides direction to employees based on established policies and management guidance, administers policies affecting subordinate staff, and recommends updates to Early Childhood Education policies and practices. They may also participate in strategic planning. Management evaluates their work based on goal achievement, while they set priorities and analyze workflow for the sites under their responsibility.
Salary Range: $68,800.00 - $141,000.00
QualificationsRequired:
Bachelor's degree in child development, education, human development, or related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Current, valid Child Development Permit
Current, valid CPR/First Aid Certificate
Must test TB negative and have health screening clearance (physical)
Required to pass FBI and DOJ criminal check with approval from Dept. of Social Services.
Solid working knowledge of early childhood education, as well as related policy and regulatory compliance requirements.
Intermediate computer application skills.
Solid inter-personal skills, service orientation, ability to multi-task effectively in a varied, challenging environment, judgment and decision making, reasoning, ability to develop original ideas to resolve problems, and highly effective verbal and written communication skills.
