Overview
The EMR Training Project Manager is responsible for communicating training policies and procedures across the organization; coordinating role analysis, which maps staff and providers to required training; coordinating all classroom and equipment aspects of EMR-led virtual training; manages Super User Leaders (SULs) onboarding and engagement throughout the project. This position is responsible for overseeing day-in-the life activities (DILs), led by super user leaders (SULs)
Responsibilities
Responsibilities for this role fall into 3 main categories:
Classroom administration and planning
End-user engagement and change management
Long-term training coordination.
Classroom administration and planning
Setting training requirements for end-user system access and getting buy-in on this decision from project and operational leadership
Communicating with project leadership about training milestones, policies, and decisions
Engaging with your Human Resources department, operational managers, and your EMR team to develop and implement a role analysis process that will identify all users who will need EMR access and map them to EMR-defined job roles. This task starts with obtaining an export of staff and providers from your HR system, and then working with operational managers to understand job functions that are performed by staff in their departments.
Coordinating EMR training for your SULs. This task includes working closely with the EMR team to educate project and operational leadership about the purpose and structure of super user lead training, securing rooms for this event, and coordinating communication to super user leads, their management, and project and operational leadership.
Communicating with SULs throughout the project to ensure that they are staying engaged and are prepared to support end-user training and readiness
Developing processes for staff, providers, and managers to escalate questions and concerns about EMR class assignments and registration and working closely with the EMR team to address changes if needed.
Providing the EMR team with the appropriate data to import trainee information into associated EMR Training Platforms.
Communicating training registration and completion data from EMR to operational and project leadership and defining the proper escalation paths if either of those are off track
Ensuring all staff have appropriate EMR training tracks assigned and are registered for EMR classes
Securing training rooms, workstations, printers, projectors, screens, barcode scanners, and other equipment needed for virtual EMR-led training and any operationally led DILs that require a computer lab
End-user engagement and change management
Creating and executing an overall vision for an end-user engagement program, including day-in-the-life activities for every role.
Outlining and forming additional educational and communication plans as desired by your organization.
Generating strong super user lead engagement before, during, and after go-live
Long-term training coordination and leadership
Planning and executing a successful employee onboarding program.
Works with the EMR team prior to go live to establish a process for EMR to receive ongoing personnel data to assign the appropriate training to new users and existing users transferring to new roles and departments
Ensuring new staff and transfers have appropriate EMR training tracks assigned.
Working with SULs, Clinical Informatics, EMR team, and others to ensure that productivity and proficiency metrics based on system usage are reviewed and staff are leveraging appropriate advanced training opportunities on an ongoing basis.
Working with analysts and super user leads to ensure key changes are communicated to end users prior to upgrades.

Experience & Education Required
Bachelor's degree in a Healthcare related field, Education, or Information Technology.
Certification in Project Management is highly preferred.
Master's degree preferred although not required.
Certifications in Change Management, Adult Learning Theory or Instructional Design is a plus.
Working Conditions
Work requires typing, filing, use of telephone and sitting for prolonged periods of time
Working in multiple office and clinical sites throughout Sussex County, Delaware.
Stretching, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling are required a moderate amount of time
May lift and carry up to 40 pounds on an intermittent basis
Some standing and walking is required
Must communicate fluently in English
Other language proficiency is a plus
